Our Nail Technician Natali from B'spoke Hair and Beauty, Stamford, explains the manicure that has been going viral across social media recently - The Ukrainian Manicure.
Nail safety. How to choose the coating?
Recently the topic of nail coatings and safety has been spoken about a lot. And this is an important aspect of the master's work, making sure the coating choice is not only safe but wear-resistant. We want all our clients to have healthy nails. So I make sure that clients understand the difference between gel and base coats.
The first steps to gorgeous nails- Prep:
Examination of the hands
Removal of the previous coating
Preparation of the skin for manicure and the nail plate for strengthening
The Ukrainian Manicure aka the COMBI manicure:
The essence of the combined manicure technique lies in the fact that I combine several techniques: machine and cuticle trimming, in this type of manicure we lift the cuticle using a diamond drill and trim it with scissors.
In my opinion, the combined manicure is the best. It suits all hands when done by a skilled technician. I only use the combined technique for my manicure clients and provide this manicure to all clients who come to me.
The next step in the Ukrainian manicure - Strengthening:
- Preparation of the nail plate for strengthening
- Nail strengthening
- Intermediate filing, depending on the type of strengthening I'm doing
Getting the final look - Polishing:
I coat under the cuticle because for the first 2 weeks, it looks like the coating doesn't grow out at all giving the perfect well-groomed clean girl look. This is the main difference and advantage of this technique. My clients love my manicure for this reason, as it can be worn for 4 weeks and still looks freshly done.
To ensure that the coating fits perfectly under the cuticle, it's essential to do a perfect cuticle clean up because if this is not done, it will be difficult to apply the coating close to the cuticle.
Perfect nails glint when applying gel polish, and have beautiful reflections of light off the surface of the nails created by the glossy finish. It's a smooth, flawless coating without streaks or bubbles, giving the nails an elegant and well-groomed appearance. These glints add depth and shine to the manicure, making it more attractive and professional.

Sterilizing tools for health and safety of my clients
Sterilization of manicure and pedicure tools is mandatory to prevent the transmission of infections and protect clients' health. This is an important stage in my work.
The stages of sterilization to which my instruments are subjected include:
- Preliminary cleaning of the tools,
- Treatment with a special disinfectant solution,
- High-temperature sterilization in an autoclave or the use of ultraviolet radiation.
I use kraft packets for storing sterilized instruments. Kraft packets provide protection for the instruments from contamination and maintain their sterility until they are used. I also label the kraft packets with the sterilization date to ensure the safety of using the instruments for each client.
I strive for constant improvement of my skills and techniques to provide my clients with the best results and the highest level of satisfaction. My goal is not just to meet clients' expectations but to exceed them.
Remember that your health and beauty are important to us, and we are always happy to help you achieve your ideal appearance and well-being.
